Funded by the Literacy Council Endowment Fund and the Bernadene R. and John B. Cooley Fund
At the Saegertown Area Library, early childhood learning is not just a program, it is a mission. With support from two endowed funds, the Literacy Council Endowment Fund and the Bernadene R. and John B. Cooley Fund, the Library purchased new furniture, technology, toys, and educational materials to strengthen their early childhood offerings.
These resources are creating a warm, engaging environment where young children can play, explore, and discover. Soft seating invites little ones to curl up with books. Hands-on toys spark creativity and early problem-solving skills. Updated technology allows staff to offer interactive story times and literacy-boosting activities. The space is now more welcoming, more functional, and more aligned with how children learn best.
Parents in the community have noticed the difference. The library has become a place where families feel supported and where children can experience the joy of learning through play. For Saegertown families, these improvements mean access to high-quality early learning opportunities close to home, without barriers.
This project shows what endowment-funded grants make possible. Because donors invested in permanent charitable funds, the library can continue growing and improving its programs year after year. The impact reaches beyond today, it nurtures the next generation and strengthens the entire Saegertown community.
Every gift tells a story. Every story becomes a legacy.
