Prepared to Protect: Titusville YMCA Strengthens Community Safety

Funded through the Fred Lintner Fund

When emergencies happen, every second matters. For the staff at the Titusville YMCA, being ready to respond can mean the difference between tragedy and relief.

With support from the Fred Lintner Fund at the Crawford Heritage Community Foundation, the YMCA purchased two new Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) this year. These devices provide a crucial link in the chain of survival for anyone experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.

The need became clear when older AEDs reached the end of their service life. Replacing them was urgent, but the cost was significant for a small nonprofit that already stretches every dollar to serve local families. The grant from the Foundation filled that gap.

Now, staff are trained, new devices are installed, and the Titusville YMCA is ready to act if the unthinkable ever happens. The machines are positioned in high-traffic areas so members of all ages can feel confident that help is always close.

“Safety is one of the most important things we can provide to our members,” said Jacquelyn. “These new AEDs mean that if something goes wrong, we’re ready. That peace of mind is a gift to everyone who walks through our doors.”

What began as a practical equipment request has become something much larger: reassurance for parents, athletes, and neighbors who depend on the YMCA each day. This small act of giving has made an entire community stronger.

Every gift tells a story. Every story becomes a legacy.
